Mission Strategy Worksheet
PAVILION Mission Strategy Worksheet.docx
This document is intended to be used for both still and video controlled and uncontrolled action.
Attention!
Check with your unit to ensure there are no local templates that should be used instead.
History has proven these idioms to be true: A good picture is worth a thousand words, and failing to plan is planning to fail.
Planning is critical to a successful visual imagery mission. Capturing the right video or still photograph starts long before you pick up the camera. Before you head into the field, complete this worksheet to help develop the goals your imagery needs to accomplish as well as identify all the tools, assets and people you need to meet those goals. It serves as a tool to both create your plan and to then communicate that plan to others.
As you fill in the worksheet you will develop your strategy while you contemplate and list:
- The mission and its objectives.
- The requirements of the captured images.
- The necessary equipment.
- The planned shot list.
- What should be captured in the images:
- Who?
- What?
- Where?
- When?
- Why?
- How?
- A summary storyboard.
- Anything that should not be captured in the images.
Keep in mind this is a foundational planning document and can be adapted to any mission that needs VI acquisition.
