This 2017 publication reissues the DoD Directive 5122.05, “Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (ASD(PA)),” September 5, 2008 and incorporates and cancels the Secretary of Defense Memorandum “Assistant to the Secretary of Defense,” October 5, 2012.
